Mourning
03:33
|
|||
did you wake in the morning when I whispered goodbye
could you hear in my voice the tale wasn’t a lie
will you rise up in morning when you sense that im gone
bottle me up to save for some soulless song, ong
strike two and counting but the crowds on your side
I swing and I miss again you toss me aside
Always ten steps behind but you never look back
Leave me to rot where your soul turns to black
now the guns at your side pledge allegiance to you
Here I sit empty armed left to mourn the things I can undo
left to mourn the things I cant undo

Not Ready For You Yet
03:26
|
|||
Someday you'll lay upon my breast
And while you sleep I will profess my love
For every muscle skin and bone
That protects your tiny heart
And every part of my work of art
That somehow was created and fabricated inside of me
And I'll say how I always knew you’d be
The mayor of a city or something real important like that
You’d be happy and carefree cause you are my baby
And id raise you to be nothing less than that
But I don’t think that I’m quite ready for you yet

Mother
04:24
|
|||
Late summer, early fall when you thought that you knew it all
and your mother held you tight, but you didn't think to ask why
and when another season goes by
you see the change within her eyes
you held her tight, too afraid to know why

Little Hands
04:51
|
|||
Little hands dirty from our plans
Of making a home where all our dreams ought to be
I see distant lands
And my mother understands
That her baby girl will live with no guarantee
Of love, of hope of anything that can make you forget the gentle swing of time
Quiet night ill lie awake
And fear for the mistakes ill make
Ill ask god what its all s’posed to mean
But my childish mind cant comprehend
The countless years that I will spend
On a quest to answer that same thing
Is there love, is there hope is there
Anything to help me forget the frickin swing
Of the time that’s on the wall
Now and then ill think of you
The woman that you’ve grown into
Unafraid of life’s uncertainties
cause the wind that blows between the trees
knows so much more than you or me
and it never stops to wonder why it goes
